4/19/2011 - ECR APPOINTS DAVID WALSH - DIRECTOR OF SALES
Utica, N.Y. – Apr. 19, 2011 – ECR is pleased to announce that David Walsh has been appointed Director of Sales for the organization’s wholesale distribution businesses.
David began his career with his family owned plumbing and heating business. David has been in the hydronic and related HVAC business for over 25 years many of which were spent with Weil McLain where he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Dave later held an executive position within distribution and recently owned and operated a representative agency.
“I’m excited to be part of a team that’s focused on getting back to basics and being a truly great, customer-oriented boiler and HVAC company” said David Walsh, ECR International Director of Sales.
In his new position David will be responsible for sales of boilers, controls, ductless air conditioning, furnaces, micro combined heat and power products, PTACs and indirect water heaters. He will also be responsible for channel management of ECR’s nine brands; Argo, Airco, Dunkirk, ecr, EMI, Olsen, Pennco, RetroAire and Utica.
12/10/2010 - CEO/PRESIDENT APPOINTED
ECR International announced this week that its Board of Directors has appointed Ronald J. Passafaro as Chief Operating Officer and board member. The Board has also determined that Mr. Passafaro will become President/CEO after completion of a management transition which will include Mike Paparone’s separation from the company.
Ron was Vice President of Sales and Marketing of ECR from 1989-2010. Ron was responsible for opening the export market into China for ECR products and led global strategic alliances in product development, manufacturing, branding and distribution agreements with companies in Asia and Europe. During his tenure he was general manager for Climate Energy, LLC, a joint venture between ECR and Yankee Scientific, focused on micro-combined heat and power alternative energy based products. He also served as vice president of Engineering for the company from 2006-2008. Prior to joining ECR, Ron held sales positions with Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, Illinois. Mr. Passafaro received a BS in Business Administration with a major in marketing from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York.

In addition, the ECR Board elected four other new directors including Earle C. Reed, William Terill, Christopher Kearns and Kevin Sanvidge. Earle Reed was named Chairman of the Board replacing Steve Sweet who is among a group of directors resigning from the Board. Other resigning directors include Frederick Hager, Andy Burns and Andy Dorn. Tim Reed, Tom Reed and Parker Weld are continuing as directors of ECR.
“In the last few years, we have reaffirmed our commitment to the communities of Utica and Dunkirk based on our $14 million dollar investment in our facilities there, and with this new leadership and new Board a new course will be charted to leverage this investment to grow the company,” stated Chairman Reed.
